Heritage Day - 27 September 2025

In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved colleague, Mrs. Suthu, who was laid to rest on 13 September 2025.
Mrs. Suthu was a dedicated teacher who touched the lives of many learners and colleagues with her kindness, commitment, and passion for education. She will be deeply missed by the Buccleuch Primary family and community.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family during this difficult time.
May Her Soul Rest in Peace.


Reminder
School attendance remains compulsory, and teaching will continue as normal in the days leading up to the end of the term.


Reminder – Junior Golf Development Programme

  • Nearly 180 reply slips received – thank you for the interest.

  • Only 20 learners can be accommodated by CCI.

  • Cut-off: slips received after 25 Sept not considered.

  • Age restriction: under 10s cannot be included.

  • Selection: U/11–13 learners will complete a short test (details to follow).

  • Future spaces: More U/11s can join in 2026 when Grade 7s leave.

  • Please remember Buccleuch is not the only school – coaches volunteer their time and facilities have limited space.

  • Final selection letters will be sent home to the 20 chosen learners.

  • Parent responsibility: Transport learners to/from practices. No Buccleuch staff will be present at the premises.


Admissions
Please note that there is limited space for admissions (Grade R–7).

Reminder: Re-registration forms, already issued to learners, are to be returned by 3 October, and the re-registration fee of R300 is due by 30 November 2025.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are excited to invite you to our Heritage Day Festival taking place at Buccleuch Primary School on Saturday, 27 September 2025.
This is a day where we come together as a community to celebrate our rich and diverse heritage through culture, food, music, and performance.

  • Gates will open at 09:00

  • Performances will begin promptly at 10:00

  • A detailed programme will be shared closer to the event.

“Let’s Celebrate our Heritage – Our Roots, Our Pride, Our Future!”


Entrance and Wristbands

  • Wristbands can be purchased via the Karri app:

    • Adults: R50

    • Children (8–17 years): R20

    • Children (3–7 years): R10

    • Buccleuch learners: Free (as they are part of the performances)


Festival Arrangements

  • Families are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and garden umbrellas for comfort.

  • No food, drinks, or cooler boxes may be brought onto the premises.

  • A wide variety of delicious meals, snacks, and refreshments will be on sale at the festival.

  • Reminder: Stalls are still available for hire at R1500.
